Kick Experience in China Wudang Kungfu Academy

  Before I arrived at China Wudang Kungfu Academy and watched the scene of their training in the big outside training yards on a warm winter day,I have no idea about the so called mysterious wudang kungfu at all.The most impressive movements on me are the kicks.

  The coaches led the trainees to practice various kicks,such as the front kick,the side kick,the toe kick and so on. They say wudang kungfu is famous for its 36 kicks,which are the most basics for the training of traditional wudang kungfu.People who take the long term classes will have to practice the kicks every day to make sure their legs are of a very relaxed and loose statement,thus they can learn the other forms more quickly and easily.

  In the early morning, I went to the stone henge and did some lunges for stretches.It was the first time that I tried to do the kicks systematically and completely. Warming up is a progressive exercise with the aim to achieve more intensive training. It should begin with simple and easy movements to protect themselves from huring themselves. A set of whole warm-up should include general warm-up, muscle stretching activity, warm-up for specific sport item and dynamic stretching muscle. These four parts are important. Any of them could not be neglect. In China Wudang Kungfu Academy,we usually warm up with waist bending forward, leg stretching movement,splitting,cross Splitting and so on. The combined effects bring positive physical and mental effect, so that the trainees’ body could reach a peak condition.

  Some movements are quite difficult for me since mu stretching is not really good.It seems that hose kicks are probably designed and created for those with certain experience. Even though it makes me exhausted and worn-out every time after training, I will really loose,relaxed and comforatble and feel like I was gaining some height after then.

  The school environment is fabulous.There are many people who want to keep fit and healthy coming to the school and practicing Wudang Taiji Quan,Qigong or simply like me, just to have an unforgettable experience.I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to my coach,who is more than patient and deligent in the class.
